Dr. Marc Pana
When I think of the word “smile”, I think of beauty and health. Your smile says a lot about you and the person you are. It’s communicating without saying a word. A beautiful and a healthy smile can give a person the confidence they need to feel good about themselves. Research actually shows that smiling is good for your health. Even if you don’t feel like smiling, making yourself smile will release chemicals in your body that are healthy for you.
When I was a teenager, my lower jaw started to grow abnormally and I needed jaw surgery. However, I couldn’t get the surgery until I was 21 years old. I also needed to get braces before the surgery. When I was 20 years old, I had my braces put on. That was my first experience in the orthodontic field. I really enjoyed going to the orthodontist and when I was done with my treatment, I knew that I wanted to be an orthodontist. I wanted to change lives and make people feel good about themselves and their smiles.
What I enjoy the most about orthodontics
At Pana Orthodontics, we do things a bit differently. My philosophy is to treat the face first and then treat the teeth. Facial aesthetics is a key component of my practice. I just don’t want to create beautiful smiles, I also want to create beautiful faces.

Treatment Coordinator and Concierge
After getting my degree in Human Biology from the University of Michigan, I was hoping to find a career where I was able to use my degree, while still helping people in my community. Ever since moving to California and joining the Pana Orthodontics team…
Clinical ConciergeWhen I was a little girl, I used to be terrified of going to my dentist appointments. I was afraid of the dentist and the assistants and I was too afraid to tell them if something was hurting me. Which is the reason why I chose this profession as a career. I’ve been in the field 7 years now and I am loving it. I love being an orthodontic assistant because I get to have a one on one conversation with patients and make them feel comfortable while I’m working on them and tell them what to expect. At Pana orthodontics, we strive to get awesome results after treatment and we make it fun during the process. I have never been in a more fun, outgoing and friendly office like at Pana Orthodontics, here we are family. When I see our patients smile, it makes me very happy because I was able to help make that perfect smile! On my free time I like to bake all kinds of goodies for my 2 kids, play soccer on Sunday mornings and watch Japanese anime.
When I was first in high school in my hometown of Plano, Texas I discovered an opening at a local dentist office hiring a part-time scheduler/receptionist. It was through this position that I was fully introduced to the importance of patient care and the variety of opportunities provided by the dental/orthodontics field. Since then I have had the privilege to train in a variety of positions and utterly fell in love with the industry and, specifically, the incredible staff at Pana Orthodontics. The most crucial part of working in the dental field is hospitality and developing genuine connections between patients and staff members. These qualities are what have and continue to inspire me within this position on a daily basis.
Director of OperationsI come to Pana Orthodontics with a degree in Healthcare Administration and 15 years experience in the dental industry. My favorite aspect of my job is getting know our patients and their families!
In my spare time I enjoy spending time working out and traveling with my family.
Scheduling Concierge/ Insurance CoordinatorBeen in this field for over a year and I love it. I enjoy interacting with every one of our patients. Pana Orthodontics is a great team to be apart of. On my free time I enjoy going to the beach or hikes with my 8year old daughter.
